THE PROBLEM

Who We Are- In a 1  ½ years prior to the Coronavirus, Cristo En Cuba organized, funded and conducted 15 retreats in 5 Dioceses throughout Cuba, transforming the lives of over 1200 men and women who are now SERVING the underprivileged in their communities through their parishes. 
After a 2 ½ year layoff due to the Coronavirus, CEC began its retreats again Oct.
​2022 conducting 7 more retreats in the remainder of the year and expanding into its 6th Dioceses of Bayamo – Manzanillo. 

In 1959, there were 6 million citizens in Cuba of which approximately 95% were Catholics. Today there are more than 11 million citizens, of which only 7% consider themselves Catholics and only 2% go to mass.

Out of the 2% that go to church, 90% are females - Catholic males barely exist. The Catholic Church is engaged in new forms of evangelization to provide the gospel to the Cuban population. It's an immense task and they need our help!

There is a need to evangelize in Cuba. There is hunger for god in Cuba.

The Cuban Catholic Church needs our support. We must respond and help take Christ to all corners of Cuba.

WHO WE ARE

CRISTO EN CUBA is a NON PROFIT FOUNDATION whose mission is to take Christ to every corner in Cuba by implementing Emmaus retreats with the Cuban Catholic Church. This 501(c)(3) Charitable Foundation was formed in 2018 after a group of like-minded Cuban Roman-Catholic Emmaus brothers and sisters who were concerned about the alarming decline of Catholicism in the Cuba.

With a clear vision of “A Cuba Filled With Christ and Christian Love”,  the CRISTO IN CUBA volunteers have worked tirelessly, with optimism, and a lot of prayers. Since 2018, CRISTO EN CUBA has organized, funded and conducted:

38 Emmaus retreats, in 7 Dioceses throughout Cuba, that have transformed the lives of almost 2000 men and women who are now EVANGELIZING & SERVING the underprivileged in their communities through their parishes.

Specifically, CRISTO EN CUBA brothers and sisters serve the homeless, the elderly, the handicapped, and the sick through an array of diverse projects covering areas, such as, Education, Health, Addiction, Food and Personal Care. Indeed, CRISTO EN CUBA is spiritually “on fire” spreading Christ's message of love AND service to the underprivileged, thereby STRENGTHENING the Cuban Catholic Church.
